Extend life to 150 years – Peter H. Diamandis is a engineer, physician, and entrepreneur best known for being the founder and chairman of the X Prize Foundation, the co-founder and executive chairman of Singularity University.
In “How to Live to 150,” SUCCESS reporter Sam Eifling finds out why the idea of a longer lifespan or extend life is not actually ridiculous, but rather completely possible and inevitable.
What billionaire or millionaire wouldn’t pay dearly for an extra 10 or 20 years of healthy aging?
That’s why one of the most important indicators of abundance today is the massive global increase in life expectancy.
In 1800, the average lifespan was just 26 – 28 years! There is an evolution of it in 1900, it improved to 31 – 35 years old. In 2010, the global average doubled to 67 years. And finally in 2016, it comes in at over 83 years old.
Making 100 Years Old the “New 60”
Human Longevity Inc. (HLI), is working on increasing the healthy, active human lifespan even further.
The goal is to extend life and make 100 years old the “new 60.”
Imagine being able to maintain esthetics, mobility and cognition for an extra 40 years. HLI is co-funded by Peter Diamandis, Dr. Craig Venter (the first person to sequence the human genome and create the first synthetic life form) and Bob Hariri, MD/Ph.D, one of the world’s leading pioneers in stem cells.
What decisions can we make differently today if we most likely live to be 150? How can we think about our 50s, or 60s? How can we evaluate our career arcs, or investments, or even the area in which we live?
XPRIZE is a non-profit organization that designs and manages public competitions intended to encourage technological development that could benefit mankind.
The mission is to bring about breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity through incentivized competition to extend life of the humanity. It fosters high-profile competitions that motivate individuals, companies and organizations across all disciplines to develop innovative ideas and technologies that help solve the grand challenges that restrict humanity’s progress.
This year at Abundance 360, We’re going to focus a significant part of our conversation on the impact of longevity on business, investment and strategy. How we get access to it and how it impacts our life and family? If you’re interested in learning more about participating, go to the abundance 360 summit.
We’re about to witness some of the biggest health care breakthroughs humankind has ever seen.
“People just don’t understand the power of exponentials. And we’re in a period of time where biological sciences and technologies are growing exponentially. And data science is growing exponentially. And our ability to understand our body and then being able to actually engineer it to be healthier and live longer is happening right now. It’s during our lifetimes. The next decade, it’s all happening.”
